Seattle garage pop trio Dude York’s new track “The Lake,” from a forthcoming EP, is the best thing they’ve done to date, and just an indisputable instance of great songwriting. The nervous energy of the groove, and the effing tidal wave of a chorus, show a band as studious to Nick Lowe, David Byrne and Elvis Costello as they are aware of peers King Tuff, Fidlar and Cloud Nothings. This track has so much heart, I just can’t get over it.
“The Lake” premiered on Yours Truly this morning.
